Our Process

How It Works

Designer Outlet is an Irish-owned marketplace connecting buyers with beautiful pre-loved designer fashion.

Whether you want to shop for a designer piece, sell it yourself or let our dedicated Concierge manage the process, here is everything you need to know.

Buying on Designer Outlet

1. Find an item you love

Browse our collection of pre-loved designer clothing, handbags, footwear, jewellery and accessories.

Read the description carefully and review all photographs, sizing, measurements and condition information.

2. Submit an enquiry or make an offer

Open the item and complete the enquiry form beneath the product details.

You can ask questions, request additional information or make an offer.

If it is a Self-Service listing, your enquiry will be forwarded to the seller. If it is a Concierge listing, our concierge will respond and manage the transaction.

The seller’s personal information is not displayed publicly or automatically shared when you submit an initial enquiry.

3. Agree the purchase

Once the price is agreed, you will receive instructions regarding payment, tracked delivery or collection.

For Self-Service purchases, payment and delivery are arranged directly between the buyer and seller.

For Concierge purchases, Designer Outlet manages or facilitates the payment and coordinates delivery or collection.

4. Receive your item

Items can be delivered by tracked post or collected where this has been agreed in advance.

A €12 tracked express delivery charge may apply where delivery is arranged through Designer Outlet.

Please purchase carefully

Items are primarily sold on behalf of individual Private Sellers. Change-of-mind returns are not normally accepted for Private Seller purchases, including where an item does not fit, the colour is unsuitable or the buyer changes their mind.

Please review all details and ask any important questions before purchasing.

If a correctly described item is unsuitable, you may apply to relist the same item on Designer Outlet without paying another listing fee. Free relisting is subject to approval and the item remaining in substantially the same condition.

This does not affect any rights that may apply where an item has been materially misrepresented or where the seller is acting as a business or Trader Seller.

Selling on Designer Outlet

There are two simple ways to sell your designer wardrobe.

Choose Sell It Yourself if you want to manage your own sale and keep 100% of the selling price.

Choose Concierge Service if you would prefer our dedicated concierge to manage the process for you.

Sell It Yourself — Self-Service

You sell directly. You keep 100%.

Self-Service is ideal if you have one, two or three designer items to sell and are happy to manage buyer enquiries, payment and delivery yourself.

Self-Service fees

  • One item — €25
  • Two items — €40
  • Three items — €55
  • Zero commission

1. Choose your package

Select one, two or three items and pay the appropriate once-off advertising fee at checkout.

2. Submit your listing information

Send us clear photographs, a description, your selling price and all relevant information about the item.

You must disclose its condition, measurements and any known marks, alterations, damage or signs of wear.

All items must be authentic, lawfully owned and suitable for Designer Outlet.

3. We advertise your item

We prepare or publish your advertisement on Designer Outlet for interested buyers to view.

We may request additional information or photographs before approving a listing.

4. Buyer enquiries are emailed to you

Interested buyers submit their enquiries through Designer Outlet.

Your name, email address, phone number and other personal information are not displayed publicly or automatically disclosed to the buyer at this stage.

We forward the enquiry to you so that you can respond directly.

5. You manage the sale

You communicate with the buyer, answer questions, negotiate the final price, arrange payment and organise tracked delivery or collection.

6. You keep the full selling price

Designer Outlet takes zero commission on Self-Service sales. You keep 100% of the agreed selling price.

Our role in Self-Service

Designer Outlet provides the advertising and enquiry platform only.

We do not own, possess, inspect or authenticate Self-Service items. We do not negotiate, collect payment, arrange delivery or manage the transaction.

The buyer and seller are responsible for verifying the item, agreeing the price, arranging payment and delivery, and resolving any issue or dispute between themselves.

All Self-Service transactions are entered into at the buyer’s and seller’s own risk, subject to our Terms and Conditions and any responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.

Concierge Service

We take care of everything for you.

Concierge is ideal if you have several suitable designer pieces to sell or simply do not have the time to prepare listings and manage buyers yourself.

Concierge fees

  • Once-off sign-up fee — €50
  • Submit multiple items for consideration
  • 30% commission when an item sells
  • You receive 70% of the final selling price

1. Join Concierge

Select Concierge Service and pay the once-off €50 sign-up fee securely at checkout.

The fee allows you to submit multiple items for consideration. It does not guarantee that every item will be accepted, advertised or sold.

All items are subject to approval based on factors including brand, style, condition, authenticity, quality, buyer demand, expected resale value and suitability for Designer Outlet.

2. Your concierge will call you

Once we receive your order, your dedicated concierge will contact you personally and guide you through the next steps.

3. Show us your wardrobe

Send photographs and information about your items by WhatsApp or email.

Where appropriate, we may arrange an in-person wardrobe consultation.

4. We select suitable items

Our concierge reviews your pieces and selects the items we believe are suitable for Designer Outlet.

We may advise you on pricing based on the item’s brand, condition and likely buyer demand.

5. We create and advertise your listings

We write the descriptions, prepare the listings, select the best photographs and present your pieces to potential buyers.

6. You keep your items until they sell

You retain possession of every Concierge item while it is being advertised.

You must keep each item safe, available and in the same condition shown in its listing. Tell us immediately if an item is damaged, altered, reserved or sold elsewhere.

Designer Outlet does not normally store or take custody of Concierge items before a sale has been agreed.

7. We manage buyer enquiries and offers

Our concierge responds to interested buyers, answers questions and manages offers.

We will contact you when an offer is made. We may negotiate on your behalf, but we will not accept an offer below the agreed price without your approval unless you have previously authorised us to negotiate within an agreed range.

8. We arrange to receive the sold item

Once the sale and buyer’s payment have been confirmed, we will contact you and arrange to receive or collect the item.

The item must be provided promptly and in the same condition in which it was advertised.

9. We arrange delivery

Once the item has been received and any necessary checks have been completed, Designer Outlet will arrange tracked delivery or collection for the buyer.

10. You receive your payment

Designer Outlet deducts its 30% commission from the final selling price.

The remaining 70% is paid to you once the buyer’s payment has cleared and any necessary transaction checks have been completed.

Authenticity and Item Condition

Designer Outlet has a strict policy against counterfeit goods.

Every seller must guarantee that their item is authentic, genuine, lawfully owned and accurately described.

Counterfeit, fake, replica and unauthorised imitation goods are prohibited.

We may request receipts, authenticity cards, serial numbers, date codes, certificates or additional photographs. However, an item is not professionally authenticated or guaranteed by Designer Outlet unless this is expressly stated in its listing.

All items must be freshly cleaned and presented in sale-ready condition. Known marks, damage, alterations, repairs or signs of wear must be disclosed.
